WAKO - Waitomo Fight Series

7 Impact members competed at the WAKO kickboxing tournament in Waitomo on Sunday 1st March. All black belts, Mark Trotter, Carl van Roon, Jeremy Hanna and Chris Broughton won the divisions they entered totaling 5 1st place trophies (Carl competed in both Light Continuous and Semi Contact sparring divisions). Our juniors Ryan, Josh and Utkarsh fought well in some really tough divisions with some bigger fighters and together they came away with 2 golds, 2 silvers and a bronze.

We all felt that the tournament was really successful and we enjoyed letting loose in competition. Some crazy techniques were pulled out in the ring and everyone really enjoyed their bouts. Chris' reverse turning kick was definitely a highlight and Carl's Raymond Daniels inspired spiral kicks were also impressive.
